Gama Aviation plans facility at Aberdeen

Gama Aviation has submitted a planning application to build a new facility at Aberdeen International Airport.

The new facility would include hanger space as well as extensive offices on two floors.

The facility, scheduled for completion in 2016 (subject to planning approval), would be Gama Aviation’s third base in Scotland.

Gama Aviation intends to use the new facility to provide support services for not only the Scottish Ambulance Service and the larger Gama managed fleet but also to business jet operators with missions in the north of Scotland.

Marwan Khalek, CEO of Gama Aviation said: “Gama Aviation has operated in a leased facility in Aberdeen for some time as part of a long-term contract with NHS Scotland and the Scottish Ambulance Service. Our plans for this dedicated facility represent a logical yet important step in further strengthening our presence in Scotland to serve Aberdeen and the east coast.

“We are currently undertaking a strategic expansion of our operations into key geographical locations around the world, such as Aberdeen, to ensure that we are able to support our clients where they need additional operational and maintenance support,” added Khalek.

Gama Aviation currently operates four bases across the UK, with its Farnborough headquarters supported by operations in Fairoaks, Oxford and Glasgow, as well as additional aircraft bases around the country. A second facility at Glasgow International Airport is due for completion in the summer of 2015.
