27 October 2016: Inmarsat (ISAT.L), the world’s leading provider of global mobile satellite communications, has announced that global data plans for its advanced new business aviation in-flight broadband service, Jet ConneX, is now available on all Dassault Aviation aircraft.

The milestone was achieved after existing radomes for Dassault Aviation’s 7X/8X and aftermarket F900 aircraft group aircraft were tested and authorised to operate with the exclusive JetWave Ka-band hardware, manufactured by Inmarsat’s partner Honeywell for the Jet ConneX service.

Jet ConneX transforms the private jet experience by offering passengers an onboard connectivity service that is reliable, high-speed and on par with broadband available on the ground. It enables video streaming, live television streaming, file downloads and more, with seamless global coverage that ensures a consistent service on flight routes worldwide.

Jet ConneX global data plans are now available for Dassault Aviation aircraft and significantly exceeds other existing satcom offerings in the market, including Ku-band services. Dedicated Ka-band radomes for Jet ConneX are also expected to be available for Dassault Aviation aircraft in 2017, improving connectivity service levels on the private jets even further.

Kurt Weidemeyer, Inmarsat’s Vice President of Business and General Aviation, said: “Dassault customers are the driving force behind this effort. They wanted Jet ConneX faster than radome manufacturers can produce a radome, so we removed the barrier. Honeywell recently received Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification for Jet ConneX on the Falcon 7X aircraft using its exclusive JetWave hardware, and we expect certification for other models to be available soon.”
