AMAC Aerospace has completed a 16-year/192-month structural inspection on a Gulfstream V business jet as its Basel, Switzerland facilities. The company completed the work in November, which included repetitive eight year/96-month inspection tasks. The Gulfstream V is a new type to AMAC’s extensive maintenance portfolio.

Bernd Schramm, group chief operating officer of AMAC Aerospace said: “We are extremely proud to be the first MRO facility in Europe to complete this major inspection of a Gulfstream V. The activity demonstrated the broad range of skills and expertise the dedicated engineering team at AMAC can deliver.”

“Our team’s focus, capabilities and understanding of the challenging requirements ensures that we can provide our customers with the best professional service possible. Having completed this first inspection we are now well positioned to discuss similar long term inspections with other Gulfstream owners. It adds a strong string to our bow of aircraft inspection options,” added Schramm.

“The maintenance input included 12 months of planning, with the resulting aircraft downtime on schedule and within budget. The first flight after the full maintenance schedule completion was seamless and the aircraft operated perfectly,” said Jamie Shawyer, chief pilot of TAK Aviation Limited.
