AMAC Aerospace gains A330 Ka Band antenna installation STC

AMAC Aerospace has gained a new Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) for the Ka Band antenna installation on an Airbus A330, successfully developed by its engineers.

The Honeywell Jetwave Ka Band satcom system included an antenna that was installed during a base maintenance check. Other cabin interior modifications and upgrades were performed during the check.

The Ka Band System delivers broadband internet service to the business jet market. The increased data speed gives business jet users greater access to internet TV and video streaming on a number of on-board devices.

Eric Hoegen, sales and key account manager at AMAC Aerospace, said: “Our customer travels extensively for business and expects global connectivity worldwide. We at AMAC Aerospace work closely with our vendors and our esteemed customers to ensure they receive the best and latest solutions on the market.”

“This STC covering the Jetwave Ka Band antenna installation on an A330-200 has been developed as Multiple STC so that it can be installed on other Airbus A330 aircraft to meet the increasing demand for high-speed connectivity on board large VIP aircraft,” added Gunnar Jancke, director of design organisation and quality assurance at AMAC Aerospace.
