Cutter Aviation has celebrated the opening of its new FBO at Colorado Springs Municipal Airport.

The FBO opening was marked with a formal ribbon cutting ceremony; a static aircraft display showcasing a Gulfstream 280, as well as TBM and HondaJet aircraft sold by Cutter Aviation; tours of the new FBO; refreshments, and speeches from Colorado Springs Mayor John Suthers, director of Aviation Greg Phillips, Cutter Colorado Springs general manager Calvin Martin, and Cutter Aviation president Will Cutter.

Cutter Aviation began its FBO operation at Colorado Springs Municipal Airport in August 2006 with the purchase of the existing FBO, Discount Fuels. Over the past decade, as activity and fuel sales steadily grew, Cutter decided to expand and entered into negotiations with Colorado Springs Airport for additional space on the west side of the airport.

Cutter purchased a 23,000 square foot hangar from the city in 2015, aiding the expansion of the FBO.

Cutter has more than doubled its footprint at the airport since 2006, including more than 9,000 square feet of FBO and office space with VIP lounge areas, a flight planning centre, executive conference room, on-site car rental, and 132,000 square feet of aircraft storage space on 17 acres of leasehold.

“Our new world-class facility at Colorado Springs Municipal Airport is a great enhancement to Cutter Aviation’s Southwestern US FBO network and we are thankful for the opportunity to celebrate our grand opening with customers, colleagues and friends.”
