Aviation Alliance, based in California, has announced that the re-manufactured Excalibur 421 aircraft, based on a Cessna 421 airframe, will feature a new cockpit, new avionics, new brakes and electrical systems, a like new warranty and two new PT-6A-135A turboprop engines.

The programme was launched by Jack Pelton, former Cessna chairman and CEO, Major General Doug Pearson (USAF Ret) and Geoff Miller.

With PT6A-135A turboprops powering the Excalibur 421, the aircraft should have a range of over 1,400 miles with reserves and a ceiling of 30,000 feet.

“The numbers speak for themselves” said Denis Parisien, vice president of general aviation products at Pratt & Whitney Canada. “Pratt & Whitney Canada is excited to welcome the Excalibur 421 to the PT6A engine family, which has more than 41,000 engines and over 335 million flying hours. The Excalibur 421 owner will benefit from the industry-leading reliability and support that the PT6A provides.”

Pratt & Whitney Canada are exhibiting at the NBAA 2013 in Las Vegas next week.
