Gulfstream delivers first G600

Gulfstream has handed the keys of the first G600 to the plane’s new owner. The delivery took place during a special ceremony at the airframer’s Savannah home-base on August 8.

The first delivery comes just a month after the aircraft received its production and type certificates from the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

“We always strive to exceed our customers’ expectations, and our first G600 delivery is a prime example of that,” said Mark Burns, president, Gulfstream. “The effort put forth by our team enabled this award-winning, technologically advanced aircraft to move from certified to delivered in an extremely short period of time. We are very proud of everyone who had a part in making this happen and keeping our promise to customers, as is a Gulfstream tradition, of a 2019 entry into service.

Although Gulfstream only stated that the first aircraft was delivered to an unidentified US customer, flight records show that G600 MSN 73007 / N76PW departed Savannah on August 8, arriving at Denver’s Centennial Airport later in the day.

The registration N76PW had previously been used on Falcon 900EX MSN 85. Although that aircraft was sold in 2018 and has since been registered as N76PY, when it was registered as N76PW it was based at Centennial Airport.

Qatar Executive was thought to be one of the early customers for the G600, however Ettore Rodaro, executive vice president of the Doha-based operator, told Corporate Jet Investor that he was not aware of any G600s on order.
