IBA broadens senior team to expand data intelligence services

London/Dublin/Tokyo – July 8th 2019: IBA Group has expanded the remit of Chief Operating Officer, Dr Stuart Hatcher, to include the role of Managing Director – Aviation Services where he will steer IBA’s principal business divisions of Valuations, Advisory and Asset Management.

In addition, the organisation has brought in respected industry expert, Terry Dawson, as Managing Director – Digital, to lead data intelligence services and develop the business strategy for IBA.iQ. This intuitive and comprehensive online platform provides essential Fleet, Valuation and Trend market intelligence to the global aviation leasing, operating, finance and MRO community.

Dr Hatcher has been instrumental in the development of IBA.iQ to date. “To differentiate what IBA can offer in the highly competitive market of aviation data, it was critical for us to develop algorithms within IBA.iQ that would enable users to lock into the technical and financial expertise that is integral to IBA.  Solving customers’ everyday problems is our sole focus and we wanted senior decision makers within the industry to have the confidence to access our data secure in the knowledge that it was supported by knowledge and expert analysis.  If major decisions are going to be based on the information extracted from our digital platform, those decisions need to be supported by astute interpretation and commercial judgment.

“Terry brings huge experience from the world of digital platform strategy and development from senior positions with RELX Group and Thomson Reuters, and he will guide the evolution of IBA.iQ moving forwards as we maintain our commitment to the provision of up-to-date, comprehensive and accurate data.”

Dawson explains that his reasons for joining IBA centre on the enormous potential for digital products in all parts of the global aviation industry.  “Advanced data analysis has the ability to aid decision-making and improve performance, and can often be the determining factor between success and failure in such dynamic and intensely competitive markets as aviation.

“The IBA team has decades of experience advising the world’s leading aircraft financiers, lessors, operators and manufacturers on complex technical and financial projects.  Combining that incredible expertise with modern technology in the IBA.iQ digital platform has already delivered great results.

“The potential is very exciting because we can take complex information and distil that into straightforward answers, fast. The aviation industry will always have bumps along the way, but it is a large and growing market where accessing the right intelligence can help companies to perform at their best no matter what the situation demands. The nature of the aviation industry, the strength of IBA’s position in the market and the opportunity for digital products to dramatically improve performance are what convinced me to join the business.  IBA has an exceptional team of experts and I am very excited to work with the team to grow our digital business.”
