Mike’s advice

“At the beginning of my career, a broker told me that ‘time kills deals’.  I’ve heard that repeated many times since then.  Working quickly is essential on corporate jet transactions as there is often a finite period of time where all parties are interested enough to push the deal through.  I’d advise that, whether you are buying, selling or financing a corporate jet, you surround yourself early with a good team of market experienced professionals allowing you to make the right decisions quickly and efficiently.  It can often prevent delays and consequential costs later on.”

Background

“I studied the law at the University of Nottingham and completed my Legal Practice Course at BPP in Manchester.  Whilst training, I found asset finance, particularly aviation finance, the most interesting and fast-paced of the departments that I worked in so I qualified into that team in 2009 when the aftermath of the financial crisis made it a challenging market.  After furthering my career with DLA Piper, I left the UK in 2013 for Clyde & Co in Dubai to work in the aviation hub that is the Middle East.”
