Teterboro LearJet crash kills two pilots

A LearJet 35A has crashed whilst on approach to Teterboro Airport, New Jersey.

The aircraft had departed Philadelphia and was inbound to Teterboro’s runway 1 when it came down in a residential area 1km south of the runway.

According to a statement by the US FAA both pilots died.

The aircraft involved was 1981 build LearJet 35A N452DA / MSN 35-452. A search of the FAA’s online registration database shows that the aircraft was registered to A&C Big Sky Aviation LLC.

Pictures circulating on social media show that the aircraft burst into flames after coming down.

A statement issued by the US FAA says that the accident happened at around 15:30 local time.

Teterboro Airport was closed following the accident, but later re-opened at around midnight local time.
