Vilnius International Airport in Lithuania will be closed from 13 July to 17 August. The entire infrastructure and the majority of regular flights will be temporarily moved to the nearest airport of Kaunas.

The limitation on the slot numbers will not allow the acceptance of all business flights into Kaunas. Besides, the maximum parking time will have a limit of 3 hours. Flight Consulting Group (FCG) control centre said that companies should consider other nearby airport options during the closure of Vilnius Airport.

“As an alternative to Kaunas, we suggest the airports of Siauliai (186 km from Vilnius), Riga (262 km) and Palanga (300 km).”

Sergey Starkov, control centre manager said: “As an alternative to Kaunas, we suggest the airports of Siauliai (186 km from Vilnius), Riga (262 km) and Palanga (300 km). FCG services around 70% of all flights in the Baltics and is a recognised authority in the region. We shall take care of servicing flights at the highest level possible, as well as ensure the delivery of passengers to Vilnius or Kaunas by comfortable cars or helicopters. We will do everything we can to minimise the impact of airport closure on the passengers and crew.”
