You’ll soon be able to spot B-HondaJets

The Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) has given a type certificate to the HondaJet. With the certification now in place, deliveries of the $5.28 million light jet can begin.

Honda first showed a HondaJet in China during the 2017 Asian Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (ABACE). At the time Honda said that the visit was speculative, with the aircraft leaving ABACE at the close to be shown to potential customers in Hong Kong and Taiwan.

But the level of interest that Honda Aircraft registered from the show was so great that the company immediately began building up a presence in the country.

Honda established its China operations late last year in a joint venture with Honsan General Aviation, a Guangzhou-based Honda car dealership. Under the agreement, Honsan will provide sales and support covering China, Hong Kong and Macao.

The company officially opened a facility at Guangzhou Baiyun Airport in February 2018, but in April 2018 announced that it would be expanding its operations there.

Michimasa Fujino, head of Honda Aircraft, said earlier in 2019 hat the company had already received “Several orders” for HondaJet`s from Chinese customers.
