David Colindres was born in Honduras into a family with a deep passion for aviation. Growing up, he was surrounded by stories of pilots and aircraft, fueling his own fascination with the industry. Born and raised in the heart of aviation, he developed a keen interest in aircraft technology and regulations from a young age.

David pursued his education at Purdue University Krannert Business School with a focus on International Business and Marketing, earning a degree from this prestigious university. His academic journey equipped him with a solid understanding of the complexities of the aviation industry, including aircraft registration processes, safety regulations, and international aviation laws.

After completing his education, David embarked on a dynamic career in aviation with his father “The Godfather of Aircraft Registries” Sir Jorge Colindres. He began his professional journey working for the family business and world renowned The Registry of Aruba, where he gained invaluable experience in aircraft registration, transactions, regulatory compliance, and international aviation. His expertise and dedication quickly earned him recognition within the industry.

David’s passion for aviation and his desire to contribute to the industry’s growth led him to transition within five (5) years to a role as VP of Operations of The Registry of Aruba. He joined the aviation regulatory arena of Aruba, where he played a key role in shaping aviation policies and overseeing the registration and certification of aircraft. Her leadership skills and strategic vision propelled him to increasingly senior positions within the company.

In recognition of his exceptional leadership and expertise, David was appointed as the President of the San Marino Aircraft Registry. As the head of the registry, he is responsible for overseeing the registration and certification of all civil aircraft. His role involves ensuring compliance with international Civil Aviation Standards, enhancing the efficiency of registration processes, and fostering collaboration with industry stakeholders.

Under David’s leadership, the aircraft registry has achieved as of December 2023, 417 active registrations and 938 in total since 2012. He has just completed his term as the International President on the ASA International Board of Governors and also recently served as the Chair on the Finance & Leasing Committee of the Helicopter Association International.

David is the Managing Director of the DavAir Group, a company providing international aviation inspection, appraisal and advisory services.

He has an unparalleled passion for the aviation sector performing appraisals of both fixed wing & rotary aviation assets in Australia, the Asia Pacific Rim, the USA and various countries in Europe & the Middle East.

With over 20 years of specialised valuation and consulting experience to many different sectors, David has considerable knowledge of corporate valuation requirements for financial reporting, mortgage security assessments, insurance & liquidation disposals. He performs appraisals for finance and leasing, aviation sales, mergers and acquisitions, insurance disputes, and expert witness for the legal fraternity.

David has presented at various international forums addressing current issues in aviation assets and appraisal methodologies. Delray Dobbins

Delray Dobbins was recently appointed the Director of Global Strategy for Engine Assurance Program (EAP) based in Dallas, TX. Delray is an industry veteran in the engine OEM space having spent almost 30 years with Rolls-Royce and Pratt & Whitney Canada.

Delray has held roles in technical publications, field service support, and multiple sales functions. He has sold CorporateCare and Eagle Service Plan while with the engine OEMs, and he also was a customer of major engine plans when he worked on the broker side with Mente Group including CorporateCare (RRCC), Eagle Service Plan (ESP), Honeywell’s Maintenance Service Plan (MSP), and GE’s ON-Point. 

In his new role, Delray will guide EAP’s efforts to bring high-quality engine support to out-of-production aircraft powered by Pratt & Whitney Canada and Rolls-Royce engines.

In 2022, Delray joined the NBAA Maintenance Committee to participate in ongoing industry discussions as well as NBAA’s efforts to visit Part 147 (A&P) schools to promote business aviation as a viable and rewarding career path.

Delray has a Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation Technology from Purdue University where he graduated with his airframe and powerplant license as well as a commercial / instrument pilot’s license. In his downtime, Delray enjoys flying his 1966 Beechcraft V35 Bonanza.

Kurt Edwards is Director General of the International Business Aviation Council (IBAC) with responsibility for leading IBAC’s unique position as the voice for Business Aviation at the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the UN specialized Agency for aviation matters based in Montreal, Canada.

Kurt joined IBAC in 2012 following a 12-year career at the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration where he held increasingly senior roles as liaison with Europe-based regulatory authorities and civil aviation organizations, and as a leading specialist on global environmental portfolios.

Headquartered within the ICAO building in Montreal, IBAC has nurtured increasingly stronger relations and greater engagement with ICAO whilst growing its global membership to 15 national and regional Business Aviation associations across six continents. Concurrently, a growing network of IBAC regional offices worldwide include locations in Belgium, Brazil, Canada, United States, and the United Kingdom.

Kurt has also led the dramatic growth in the IBAC codes of best safety practices for business aircraft operators and ground handlers while redoubling its commitment to environmental programs. Steffen Fries serves as Chief Executive Officer at MHS Aviation GmbH.
In 2011, Mr. Fries joined the former co-owner of DC Aviation and built up MHS Aviation in Munich, which today manages more than 20 aircraft.

He began his career at Lufthansa in 1990. In 2002, he moved to NetJets Europe as the Senior Vice President for Germany, Switzerland and Austria. In 2008, he joined DC Aviation GmbH, formerly known as Daimler Chrysler Aviation, where he served as Chief Executive Officer since 2009. Graduating from Harper Adams University in 1999 Lindsey Oliver started her career in a graduate trainee role in animal feed sales in the agriculture industry.  She then moved on to two different positions in trade associations before starting at British Business and General Aviation Association, BBGA in 2009. She progressed to her role as Managing Director in 2021 where she works alongside CEO Marc Bailey and board members reacting to and resolving member and industry issues together with the successful execution of BBGA events and industry meetings throughout the year.

In 2016 Lindsey oversaw and implemented the dual agreement arrangements with European Business Aviation Association which proposed that UK BBGA members have automatic membership to EBAA.  This strengthened the relationship between the two association despite the BREXIT referendum the same year.   This agreement remains in place to date.

Lindsey managed the association throughout the COVID pandemic and BREXIT negotiations which saw an unprecedented demand and support from members as business and general aviation organisations adjusted to the new conditions.

As MD Lindsey works closely with Government Departments, Civil Aviation Authority, and senior industry leaders on a weekly and sometimes daily basis. 

BBGA has approximately 180 member companies.  These range from FBO’s, Operators, Legal Firms, and Support Organisations involved in the business aviation space.  BBGA is closely linked with other aviation trade associations including European Business Aviation Association (EBAA) International Business Aviation Council (IBAC), British Helicopter Association (BHA), Air Operators and Pilots Association (AOPA), Association of Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (ARPAS-UK).  Lindsey is also a Council member of the General Aviation Safety Council (GASCo).

Steve Patrick

Steve Patrick currently serves as the Vice President of Bombardier Defense where is responsible for
the delivery of multiple specialized aircraft programs. These include applications such as intelligence,
surveillance and reconnaissance platforms, communication relay, maritime surveillance as well as
Head of State transport. Steve also champions all facets of business development, program
management, engineering, manufacturing, testing, and support, overseeing diverse teams in both
Wichita, Kansas and Montreal, Canada.
Since joining the company in 1997, Steve has held numerous key leadership roles across multiple
business units. Before assuming leadership of Bombardier Defense, he served as the Director of
both the Global 7500 and CSeries Flight Test teams where he led over 500 engineers, pilots,
mechanics, quality inspectors, and project managers.
In previous roles, Steve directed a highly skilled team for the Learjet product line, guiding the
Learjet 70/75’s entry into service. He also led a team of 200 engineers to oversee the successful
entry into service for the CRJ-1000 while supporting over 1,500 in-service CRJ aircrafts.
Earlier in his career, Steve spent a few years with an entrepreneurial startup developing the Adam
Aircraft A500 piston aircraft and A700 very light jet. He also served as a senior flight test engineer
for BAE Systems, focused primarily on Tornado GR1 weapon systems program.
Steve graduated from The University of Ulster, in Northern Ireland, where he earned his Bachelor of
Technology in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. He later attended the University of Lancaster
where he attained a post-graduate certificate in management studies.

Steven Truxal

Professor Air and Space Law

Steven Truxal holds a BA in International Affairs with concentrations in international law and economics from the George Washington University in Washington DC, an LLM in International Commercial Law with focus on international transport and a PhD in Air Law from the University of Westminster in London.

Truxal has a track record of research excellence in air law. His PhD dissertation was later published as Competition and Regulation in the Airline Industry: Puppets in Chaos (Routledge 2012). Truxal’s second monograph is entitled Economic and Environmental Regulation of International Aviation: From Inter-National to Global Governance (Routledge 2017).

Truxal joined Leiden from the City Law School, University of London, where he was Reader in Air Law and Associate Dean (International). Previously, he served as Visiting Professor of Law and Dean of Studies at the Centre for British Studies, Humboldt University in Berlin. Truxal has also spent time as a visiting researcher at the McGill Institute of Air and Space Law in Montreal. 

Prior to his academic career, Truxal gained experience through working in the aviation industry with Deutsche Lufthansa AG and in government administration at the US Department of Commerce.

David Van Den Langenbergh

David Van Den Langenbergh has over 35 years of experience in business and commercial aviation. A native of Schoten, Belgium, David, 53, was Airworthiness Manager of Belgium-based Abelag Aviation, which he joined in 2006 as head of Part 145 repair station maintenance. Prior to that, he worked for ten years as line and base maintenance manager at Lufthansa Technik and Delta. His early years were spent in general aviation, first at Bossaerts Aviation Service, then Styl Aviation and finally ABC Aviation, where he worked as a mechanic before moving up to the post of inspector. David entered aviation right out of vocational school and is largely self-taught. He obtained his pilot’s license at the tender age of 21.

David has been a Dassault Falcon Operators Advisory Board chairman for 5 years and became Chief Technical Officer of Luxaviation Group in September 2014, President of Luxaviation Aviation Services between January 2019 and May 2023 followed by Luxaviation Chief Industry Affairs Officer since June 2023. David is member of the Board of Directors in multiple Luxaviation AOCs of which one is the only Single EASA licensed AOC for business aviation.

David is also accountable Manager for the Luxaviation San Marino AOC, offering an international commercial operation platform for aircraft owners that need a flexible solution combined with professional, secure and safe aviation environment.

Since 2016 he is board member of the General Aviation Manufacturer’s Association (GAMA) having been the Chairman of the European Leaders Steering Committee for 4 years and an active member of multiple working groups. He’s the Co-Chair of the EBAA – GAMA Maintenance Working group and Chairman of AMAC’s Maintenance Working Group. David discusses on a regular basis with EASA, FAA and EU aviation representatives to support Business and General Aviation interests.

In 2024, David was appointed a member of EBAA’s Board of Governors.

As an experienced Managing Director in aviation, finance and across lifestyle brands, she has vast experience in strategic planning and long term business analytics, delivering multiple Berkshire Hathaway 10 year plan reports and combines this experience with detailed knowledge of all aspects of the aviation market, including operations and manufacturers.

Svenja Wortmann

After completing a German and French Master’s degree in International Economics in
Tübingen and at the Sorbonne in Paris, Svenja Wortmann joined the Mergers & Acquisitions
department of the former DaimlerChrysler AG in Stuttgart in 2005.
She first came into contact with the business aviation industry when she was part of the team
responsible for the sale of DaimlerChrysler Aviation GmbH.
In 2007, Svenja Wortmann officially joined DC Aviation GmbH, where she has held various positions. In December 2023, she became an authorized signatory of the company as well as Directrice générale of the joint venture DC Aviation G-OPS for the handling of business jets at Nice Côte d’Azur airport.
Since August 2024, Svenja Wortmann has held the position of Managing Director and now manages, together with Marc Ambrosius, the international business of the DC Aviation Group.
